My photography has grown over forty years from a habit of pausing for the quiet, overlooked moments — fragments of beauty I first captured as references for painting, but that soon revealed themselves as complete works in their own right. To reinterpret them later would have softened their original truth.
Over time I became a confident photographer, deeply nourished by the act of seeing. Photography has become soulfood for me — a way of breathing, of grounding, of staying connected to the world. It sustains me just as deeply as creating art.
